Adirondack Guru is a website that has the purpose of informing people on different activities that can be done in New York’s Adirondacks. Adirondack Guru’s big attraction are trail descriptions on hiking trails in the Adirondacks that include, but are not limited to the 46 High Peaks, and other popular hikes. Below you will see the various pages that Adirondack Guru offers with a description of that page.
  • Trail Descriptions: Adirondack Guru offers searchable trail descriptions on many hikes that are in the Adirondacks including the 46 High Peaks. All trail descriptions were created by first hand experiences of our staff. Our trail descriptions don’t limit themselves to just the 46 High Peaks, they include trail descriptions to campsites, lean-to’s, and other hiking destinations.
  • Camping: Adirondack Guru’s camping page is divided up into two main sections, camping and backpacking. We figured that there are two main types of camping that people most often do when they travel up to the Adirondacks. People either go to a campsite that you can drive up to with your car or backpack into a campsite deep in the wilderness. Our main camping page deals with the campsites that you can drive your car up to and our backpacking page deals with campsites that you have to hike into.
  • Backpacking: As stated above in the camping section, Adirondack Guru’s backpacking page deals with camping that you have to hike into. Our backpacking page also deals with trail descriptions to many campsites and lean-to’s in the Adirondacks, along with a list of lean-to’s.
  • Mountain Biking: Adirondack Guru’s mountain biking page deals with popular mountain biking trails that reside in the Adirondacks.
  • Water Sports:Adirondack Guru’s water sports page offers information on all types of water sports that go on in the Adirondacks such as canoe/kayaking, motor boating, and jet skiing.
  • Attractions: Our attractions page is divided up into two categories, summer and winter activities. Both of these categories list several popular attractions that the Adirondack State Park offers. These attractions are fun things that people can take their family to, but might have to pay to do.
  • Skiing: Skiing is a big part of the winter up in the Adirondacks, and many people travel to the Adirondacks to ski. Our skiing page is broken down into downhill and cross country skiing. Our downhill skiing page has descriptions of two of the best skiing mountains in the Northeast that happen to reside in the Adirondacks, Gore and Whiteface Mountain.
  • Tips: Being prepared for anything and everything is very important when doing any type of activity in the Adirondacks. Our tips page helps you on planning your next trip, and gives you tips on what gear or equipment you should plan on bringing with you. The tips page also has rules and regulations that are placed by the NYSDEC for protection of wildlife that everyone should know before heading out into the wilderness.
