At the Junction of the Algonquin Trail and Whale's Tail Notch Ski Trail, veer left if comming from the Adirondack Loj. This trail is wider than usual because it was and old ski trail. This trail starts off steeper then gradually gets less and less steep as you move on. At 1.3 m you arrive at Marcy Dam. |

Stay to the right at the junction with the Whale’s Tail Notch Ski Trail if heading from the Adirondack Loj. The trail begins to become steeper. You will cross streams and the old Wright Peak Ski Trail. At 1.0 m you will reach a nice waterfall. After the waterfall the trail starts to have patches of steep sections, followed by more level sections. After 1.7 m you will reach the junction to the Wright Peak Trail. |

Stay to the right at the junction with the Wright’s Peak Trail. The trail becomes steeper with sections of open rock. You will hit the timberline at 0.5 m where the trail will become marked by cairns and yellow paint. After 0.9 m you will reach the summit of Algonquin Peak. |
