Route Name: Livingston Point Lean-To via Hanging Spear Falls Trail
Route Length: 8.7 miles
Starting Point: Trail Head, Hanging Spear Falls Trail
Ending Point: Livingston Point Lean-To
From the trail head, the trail is marked with yellow markers. The trail starts out crossing the Hudson River via a suspension bridge and then crosses Lake Jimmy over another bridge. The trail is mostly level during this section. After 0.8m you come to the junction with the Mt. Adams Trail to the left marked by red markers.

From the junction with the Mt. Adams Trail, the trail travels for about a half a mile until the trail comes across a gravel road. The trail joins the road for about 0.2m until it turns off of it. From here, the trail travels on mostly level ground after which you hit Lake Sally. From Lake Sally, the trail travels mostly level until you hit the Opalescent River, where the trail connects and joins with another gravel road. After veering off to the right after 0.1m on the gravel road, the trail is mostly level and crosses several brooks. After 4.5m you will come to the site of the old Twin Brook Lean-To which is no longer standing. From here, the trail is now marked with red markers. The trail starts climbing gradually with some short steep sections. After 6.7m, you come to a junction with a tote path that leads to Hanging Spear Falls.

From the junction with the tote path to Hanging Spear Falls, the trail continues on a steep climb that moderates off until you reach the dam at Flowed Lands and the junction with the Livingston Point Trail that leads to the Livingston Point Lean-To.

From the junction with the Hanging Spear Falls Trail, the trail is mostly level. After 0.6m you come to the Livingston Point Lean-To on your left.
