From the trail head, the trail is marked with yellow markers. The trail starts out with mostly level and then gradually turns into a moderate climb. You will pass several cross country ski trails on your way and after 1.5m, you will come to the Placid Lean-To on your right. |

From the Placid Lean-To, the trail descends down for 0.4m until you reach the junction with the red marked McKenzie Mt from Rt 86 Trail to your left. |

From the junction with the McKenzie Mt from Rt 86 Trail, the trail is now marked with red markers. The trail climbs moderately to steeply for about a mile until you reach the first summit. McKenzie Mt has four summits, with the last one being the true summit. The trail crosses over the first three summits to the last and true summit after 1.6m. |
